Processors
CPU and GPU utilization, load averages, per-core usage, plus high-CPU, high-wake, and high-memory processes.
NATIVE macOS MENU BAR MONITOR
One quiet native panel for CPU, GPU, memory, disk, network, thermal state, and battery — sampled only when needed.
WHAT YOU CAN MONITOR
Top-level cards keep the signal clear. Per-core load, processes, temperatures, and electrical details are opt-in and sampled only while their card is expanded.
CPU and GPU utilization, load averages, per-core usage, plus high-CPU, high-wake, and high-memory processes.
Memory pressure and composition, swap, disk capacity, live throughput, IOPS, and network interface traffic.
System thermal pressure, opt-in temperatures, battery health, cycle count, time remaining, voltage, current, and live power.
Collapsed cards avoid expensive details, while process rankings and disk capacity use separate throttled schedules.
ON DEMAND
CPU, GPU, memory, disk, network, thermal state, and battery
Hidden details stay out of the panel and do not trigger active sampling
The direct edition has full sensors; the App Store edition follows sandbox and public API limits
The direct edition can toggle zero-delay edge reveal for an auto-hidden Dock
TWO EDITIONS
Developer ID signed and Apple notarized, with full temperature sensors, SMC power, process rankings, and the Dock shortcut.
Download from GitHub →Sandboxed and limited to metrics available through public system capabilities, without private sensors or system preference changes.
Preparing for the App StorePRIVACY POLICY
Last updated August 12, 2026
ColdHot has no account, advertising, or analytics SDK. Performance, temperature, battery, network, and process data is never uploaded to the developer or third parties.
Metric selection, refresh interval, and interface preferences are stored only in the app's local preferences. Removing app data removes these settings.
Network latency is off by default. When enabled and the network card is open, ColdHot connects to 1.1.1.1:443 about every 10 seconds to time the TCP handshake; no monitoring data is sent.
The direct edition can read additional local sensors and control the Dock shortcut. The App Store edition is sandboxed and uses only capabilities allowed for that edition.

QUICK HELP
Apple Silicon sensors and keys vary by model. ColdHot filters missing or implausible readings and never substitutes adapter wattage for live power.
Sampling is demand-driven and collapsed cards retain summaries only. Choose a 1, 2, or 5 second refresh and disable any metric or detail you do not need.
They use different bundle identifiers but share the same app name. Choose one long-term installation channel to avoid overwriting the app in your Applications folder.
